"Dragoon" revolver, manufactured by Samuel Colt, USA 1848.

This famous "Dragoon" is a .44 percussion revolver originally designed for the US Cavalry, also know as the "Dragoons".

This model was designed to do away with the numerous problems which existed with the 'Walker' model. Although presented after the Mexican-American war, it became widely popular amongst the civilian population around 1850-1860, and was also used during the American Civil War (1861/1865).
